This is the term used for art that is put into a word processing program, such as Word(TM) or WordPerfect(TM) or into a desktop publishing program such as Adobe Pagemaker(TM) . The major programs will accept (import. acquire or place) most file formats. To determine if your program can handle a certain file format, study the user manual for the words: 'import', 'acquire', 'place' or similar ideas.
The CelticLady (TM) works in PC but tries to create files that will be usable by both PC and Mac computers. Computer Clip Artare created in .TIFF format (tho some may notice I haven't had time to convert the first two Celtic volumes of graphics - soon, I promise). .TIFF's are usable by both PC and Mac's.

FONTS
PC's & Mac's use the same type of formats for fonts; however, to use a font from one platform (computer: PC or Mac) to another, it must be 'converted'. Those fonts created in PC such as The CelticLady's(TM) Fonts can be used by Mac after using TTConverter (see below) to convert them.TTConverter (see below) to convert them.
The CelticLady's (TM) Fontsare available in TrueType™ - however until I get a conversion program Mac users will need to use TTConverter to convert the PC TrueType for Mac use. Compressed files allow for faster download time and therefore require certain programs to uncompress them - below is a selection of shareware for uncompressing such files.
This identifies the type of file by its 'extension'. The extension is the last three letters that follow the period (full stop) after the name of the file. An example is CARS.PCX. The file's name is "CARS" and its extension is .PCX or PC Paintbrush format. Below are a few clip art formats:
ZipIt 1.3.5 - this is a shareware for zipping and unzipping files and is compatible with PKZip (PC)
WinZIP - a compression program for Windows 3.1 and 95.
Stuffit Expander - StuffIt Expander is a necessary utility if you handle compressed files from different platforms -- PC, Mac, etc. StuffIt Expander can decompress SIT files and other archive formats used on Macs. In the DOS arena, it can handle ZIP, ARJ, GZIP UNIX archives, and ARC files. (TM)
