Metal Arts Group manufactures this line under the name of Celtic Spirit.
Working in sterling silver or karated gold metals, a hand inked original Celtic design of Ms. Butler is transformed into fine jewelry for both men and women. After each piece is meticulously hand finished it is hallmarked with Brittany's logo.
B rittany has developed a line a Celtic jewelry that both reflects the past and the present thus continuing the evolution of Celtic art. Combining decorative geometric images with stylized animals, humans and other forms from nature intertwined with continuous, overlapping line work.
Since her first introduction to Celtic Art while earning a degree at Loyola Marymount University, the intricracies and beauty of Celtic Art has fascinated her. Because Brittany lives in the 20th century it is not her goal to reproduce the ancient pages of the great Illuminated Manuscripts, such as the Book of Kells or the Lindisfarne Gospels. Rather she sees Celtic art as still alive and as such it is continuing to progress in its style, with new ideas influencing its meanings and beauty.
The Celtic Nation of Brittany
M s. Butler is inspired by her ancient Breton Celtic ancestors. Brittany (Breton) is presently a province in France but until the mid 16th century Brittany was a great Celtic Nation. Even today the Bretons proudly fly their famous Gwenn-ha-du flag (black and white) and use the triskele as a Celtic symbol of the 3 Breton elements: Air, Fire and Earth.
